Collecting a long through pass from Josh Gowling Simeon had an excellent first touch and quick movement to his right in front of the Rainham End.

As Wycombe goalkeeper, Scott Shearer rushed to get the ball a quick flick by Simeon and a sublime finish as he lifted the ball over the onrushing keeper into the far corner of the net.

It was a goal worthy to win any game and was Simeon’s tenth of the season all scored at Priestfield.

Although Wycombe were next to bottom in the League with only one win in eleven they did show flashes of good football and twice came from behind to equalize.

It looked like a draw might be on the cards but for the intervention of Simeon Jackson in the 77th minute that ensured Gills earned three points and moved back up the table to 11th.

For the first ten minutes Gills struggled to get any real attacks under way and seemed intent of testing veteran Michael Duberry’s heading ability with long balls over the top.

With half-time fast approaching Gills regained the lead when the suspect Wycombe defence failed to clear a bouncing loose ball and Curtis Weston was on hand to hit home from close range. Curtis again won the Sponsors Man of the Match Award.

Wycombe came out strongly in the second half and Gills were strangely subdued and let the Chairboys regain the initiative. They equalized for the second time just after the hour mark through a Mark Bentley own goal.

The dangerous Woodman took a free kick that was diverted past a helpless Simon Royce.

The game then looked for the entire World to end in a 2-2 draw until the wonderful finish by Jackson.

However there was one last attempt by Wycombe when again Woodman struck a perfect and powerful free kick from a central position only for Simon Royce to pluck the ball out of the air with both hands.

Gills gradually began to get their act together and Josh Gowling (right) scored the Gills first and his first for the club after 16 minutes, heading home from the excellent Andy Barcham’s cross at the back post.

Wycombe came back strongly and passed the ball around just in front of the Gills penalty area where left back Craig Woodman struck a great goal past Simon Royce into the top corner.
