ANDY PUGH ON LOAN AT THE CRABBLE
Thursday 10 September
Gills forward Andy Pugh (right) has been loaned out to Blue Square South outfit Dover Athletic initially for a month but could be extended. Whites boss Andy Hessenthaler already has a number of former Gills players in his squad including, Nicky Southall, Danny Walder, Frannie Collin and Jon Wallis.
Hessy is desperate for some cover in attack after two of his strikers, Adam Birchall and Shaun Welford suffered injuries during their 2-0 victory over Thurrock last Tuesday.
He told the Kent News: “At the moment we have only got Frannie Collin available so we are a bit light up front. I have known Andy for a long time since I was at Gills and he is highly thought of”.
Our 20 year-old is likely to go straight into the Dover side that faces Hampton & Richmond at home this Saturday with Mark Stimson also allowing Pugh to play in their forthcoming FA Cup-tie.
