MARTIN ALLEN REACTION - GILLS 0 v Wycombe Wanderers 1

“At home we are finding it difficult, let’s not hide behind the curtains. It’s difficult for us to find wins at home and performances for 95 minutes and that’s something we have to face up to, deal with and help our players to get better.”

“Does it annoy me, does it bug me. Well it kind of hurts me because I want to see our supporters go home happy. The lads have done fantastically well away from home as every game away from home we are right on it.”

Looking forward to Gills next game at Valley Parade, Martin Allen added, “The squad will now be staying up North for a few days with the Bradford and York fixtures just a few days apart that will hopefully give the players a chance to bond.”

A delighted Wycombe boss Gareth Ainsworth commented, "We could have had two or three goals if not more. To come to a place like Gillingham and we were up for it, ready for it.”

"I was a little bit worried that we would be a bit rusty with no games for 16 days but those worries were soon put to bed when I saw the lads come out. The passion, the drive and the energy was awesome from the boys.”

Ainsworth continued, "The boys were outstanding, every single one, and I'm so glad Matt scored. He missed that one chance but that's his one a season. We had chances and (were) unfortunate not to be ahead earlier but we scored at a great time. I'm really proud."
