Club history – Charlie was a product of the highly successful Tottenham Hotspur Youth set-up after signing a player contract at White Hart Lane in 2005. He failed to make a first team appearance for them although was an unused Spurs sub on a few occasions.

Charlie later went out on loan at Millwall when making 5 appearances before linking up on a permanent 3 year deal with Peterborough United in 2007.

The highly rated player went on to help Wealdstone win the Ryman Premier League title in 2013-14 when making a total of 53 appearances and scoring 18 goals in all competitions. He has also represented the National England ‘C’ team whilst playing for Wealdstone.

Tom’s performances at the Stones alerted a number of Football League clubs including League Two Stevenage who signed the talented youngster up prior to the start of 2014-15. In his first two seasons at the Lamex Stadium he made 83 first team appearances when notching 10 goals.

He continued his excellent form at Stevenage last season as an ever present in their side with 6 goals during his 44 appearances. Boro were keen to hold on to the highly rated midfielder, who is now out of contract, but has since been made available for transfer after failing to agree a new deal.

The combative attacking midfielder made 50 appearances in his first season at the Posh when netting 8 goals plus picking up the Player of the Year award. The following season he played a more defensive role at the Posh when they were promoted to the Championship where he again picked up their Player of the Year Trophy for the second successive year.

Whilst making 177 appearances in his 4 seasons for the Posh he was loaned to the Gills during the 2010/11 season when playing 4 matches and netting 1 goal. The following season the no nonsense defensive midfielder penned a permanent 3 year deal with the Gills and went on to play 111 games plus netting 11 times. He also played a pivotal role in season 2012-13 when the Gills were crowned League Two champions.

Following his release from Gills in June 2014 Charlie linked up with League Two Stevenage where he has been an ever present defensive midfielder during his 130 appearances at the Lamex. Many of the Boro fans are genuinely surprised that Charlie has been shown the door, but maybe their loss could be Gills gain!
