Bradley Dack has previously been honoured. At the 2015–16 Football League Awards evening Dack won the League One Player of the Season award and was named in the Football League Team of the Season.

That same Gills season he was also named as Gillingham's Player of the Year, Young Player of the Year, Players' Player of the Year and Sponsor's Player of the Year.

In the following 2016–17 season he was named as Gillingham's Young Player of the Season for the third year running finishing the season with six goals in 39 appearances.

On 27 June 2017 he signed for Gills League One rivals Blackburn Rovers for an initial fee of £750k and looks to be heading for the Championship with Blackburn Rovers.

Adebayo Akinfenwa is a Gills legend and spent two spells at Priestfield signing first in July 2010 and scored on his debut at Cheltenham. Whilst at the Gills, Akinfenwa was able to form a strong partnership with Cody McDonald and the pair scored 36 goals between them that season.

After a spell with Northampton Bayo returned on a free transfer in July 2013 reigniting his successful partnership with Cody McDonald. They scored 27 goals between them over the course of the 2013–14 season.

Akinfenwa is now a legend at Wycombe Wanderers who currently are in one of the League Two automatic promotion places and therefore Gills supporters could welcome Big Bayo back to Priestfield next season.

Akinfenwa is also a successful business man and author. “The Beast’ is an autobiography book and looks back at Bayo’s career, who despite spending much of his time playing in the lower leagues, he has become something of a cult hero among football fans. A signed copy of this book is one of the prizes for the GillsConnect prediction competition.
